Though three tab shingles will do fine, laminate is better. Laminate shingles are thicker and will hold up better to storms. Even better than laminate is standing seam roofing. As good as laminate roofing is, it is not quite as durable as metal. Whether you go with laminate or standing seam roofing, or metal, your investment in top quality underlay is better protected.
With winter approaching, now is a good time to get a new roof you need before you lose a lot of money from heat going through that old roof. Getting a new roof now means your furnace won’t run as much to keep your home cozy and warm through the winter. The result will be substantially lower heating bills while you remain comfortably warm watching the winter storms through your windows.
